Hernando D. Rowe, Jr, affectionately known as "HD", 77, resident of Charleston died May 15, 2013 at his home. He was born July 1, 1935 in Steele, MO to the late Hernando D. and Odessia Sanders Rowe, Sr.
He was a veteran serving in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his one brother, Allen Thomas, a son, Terrance Rowe, and one grandchild.
He was united in marriage to Johnnie Mae Johnson who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons: Thomas (Jessica) Johnson of Dyersburg, TN, Germayne (Penny) Carter of Sikeston, MO, Hernando Rowe III and Moses (Takyia) Rowe of Charleston, MO, eight daughters, Teresa Williams of Wilson City, MO, Sherry Rowe and Shelia Rowe of Milwaukee, WI, Teresa Jones Jackson of Round Rock, TX, Mildred Carter of Danville, IL, Tammy Carter Rowe, Cindy Rowe and Rachel Rowe of Charleston, one brother and four sisters, Tommie (Geneva) Rowe of Jefferson City, MO, Almeta Sloan of Clarksville, TN, Ophelia Rowe of Baltimore, MD, Carrie (Lloyd) Wade of St. Louis, MO, and Ruth (John) Hart of Charleston, 30 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 11:00 am until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church in Charleston with Pastor Ronald Sloan officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Missouri State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites.
