Silas Hunt, 60, resident of Sikeston died February 24, 2016 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born September 8, 1955 in Sikeston to the late Nelson Jake and Inez Jones Hunt and was of the Baptist faith.
He lived in Champaign, IL and returned to Sikeston in 1995 and was a former employee of Jeremiah's Restaurant and Lounge in Sikeston where he worked as a cook.
He was united in marriage to Lavette Hatcher on February 14, 1998.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Elery and Maurice Hunt of Sikeston, two daughters, Jazzma Thompson and Shaquawna Wallace of Sikeston, four brothers, Jake Jones and Ignatius "Mike" Hunt of Sikeston, Reginald Hunt of Columbia, SC and Elgin 'Jack' Hunt of Lincoln, NE, four sisters, Melody Goodall of Chicago, Rita Savage of Sikeston, Evelyn Hunt of Cape Girardeau and Ethel 'Jill" Hunt of Lincoln, NE, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 12:00 P. M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston where Rev. Herman Gardner, pastor of Travelers Rest MB Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
