Annie Lou Rodgers Hamilton, 74, resident of Sikeston, Missouri, formerly of Charleston, Missouri, was born March 27, 1951 in Henson, Missouri to the late David Lawrence Rodgers and the late Alfreda Scott Rodgers.
Throughout her lifetime, she maintained and nurtured her personal relationship with God. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Richard Lee.
In 1970, Annie graduated from Charleston Senior High School in Charleston, Missouri. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for many years at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Center in Charleston, Missouri as well as Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of Southeast Missouri.
Annie loved children and after raising her two daughters, she eventually opened her home and her heart to become a foster parent to many children in need. She eventually transitioned to operating a Daycare Center, providing them with a safe, loving environment.
In her free time, Annie liked to fish and play bingo. She enjoyed watching T.V., especially movies, and listening to Heavy D and the Boys, along with her favorite tunes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Ingram, Leroy Ingram, Bobby Ray and Frank Donald Ingram, her sisters, Margaret Jefferson, Delores Blanchard, and Joanne Ingram, and her grandson, Kiron Rodgers,
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Barry Hamilton of Chicago, Illinois, her daughters, Letricia (Sean) McClain of Charleston, Missouri, and Sergeant Major (Retired) Tina Gray of Dumfries, Virginia, three brothers, Gene (Loretta) Rodgers of Charleston, Missouri, Marshall (Mamie) Rodgers of Evanston, Illinois, and David (Pat) Rodgers of Chicago, Illinois, two sisters, Rozena (Lee) Howard of Charleston, Missouri and Maxine Rodgers of St. Louis, Missouri, four grandchildren, Tashima Owens and Lamarr (Janisha Winford) Owens of New Madrid, Missouri, Moshé Owens of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tiana Jackson of Dumfries, Virginia, seven great grandchildren, her extended family, the Gillespie family, her best friends, Alfreda Jarrett and Virginia Brown, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
