D'Erick Thomas Menz, 20, resident of Charleston, Missouri died Friday, May 24, 2019. He was born December 15, 1998 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Joe Poole and Tyressa Menz of Cairo, Illinois.
D'Erick was raised for the majority of his life in Cairo, Illinois and graduated from Cairo Junior/Senior High in 2017. He went on to live and work in Charleston, Missouri, where he was employed by Butler's Machine & Welding.
D'Erick was an amazing young man. He was a natural leader, full of life, humor, passion, quick wit and love for his family and friends. His proudest accomplishment was fathering two wonderful children, Dylan Thomas Menz, age 3, (Jalyn Nesby) and Nova Skye Ryann Menz, age 1 (Lexie Jordan). He loved his children deeply and worked tirelessly to provide for them.
D'Erick is survived by his mother, Tyressa, and two brothers, Devin (T'Keyah), and Thomas, as well as his nephew, D.J., his grandmother, and several aunts, uncles and cousins, and many friends who loved him like family. Most of all, he is survived by his two precious children.
Friends may call Friday, June 7, 2019 from 11:00am until the memorial hour of 12:00 noon at the Cairo Junior/Senior High School in Cairo, Illinois.
