Earnestine Williams Anderson affectionately known as (Tine) was born on September 25, 1942 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Johnnie Lee and James Lula Clark Williams. She was the oldest of ten children, five boys and five girls.
On June 9, 2026, she was called to glory at the age of 83 years, eight months and nine days at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri. Her parents, her husband, Andrew Anderson, one daughter, Denise (Slick) Williams, one son, Rickey Anderson, one sister, Jessie Mae Williams, two nieces, TyShanta Williams and Regina Rose, one grandson, Mikel Anderson, two sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Williams and Valeria Davis, and one brother-in-law, Jerome Davis, have preceded her in death.
Earnestine was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at an early age at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri in 1968 under the leadership of Reverend Hunt. Later on in life, she joined Abundant Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri, under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Dunlap until her death.
After receiving her education from Lincoln School in Charleston, Missouri, she went to work at Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in 1973 as a Dietary Cook for 25+ years until her daughter got sick and she became a caregiver for her family for many years.
Earnestine loved to work in her yard and loved to plant flowers and mow her yard. While working in her yard and flower beds, if she seen any snakes in the flower bed or yard, her famous words were:
“Girl I got em, I grab my hoe that I kept in the corner of the porch and I chop them up to pieces.”
Earnestine was a very loving and humble mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved to help anyone that needed help when she could and always tried to give loving and kind words to whom she talked to.
Earnestine leaves to cherish her memories:
Three daughters, Lorraine (Earnest) Zimmerman, Lawanda (Bobby Lee) Ware, and Claudia (Norvel) Jones, all of Charleston, Missouri;
Five sons, Kelly Ray Williams of Austin, Texas, Henry A. (Aka H.B.) Williams, Kevin (Lucille) Anderson, Adrian (Porsha) Anderson, all of Charleston, Missouri, and Corey (Tiffany) Anderson of Chicago, Illinois;
Two bonus sons, Alvester Johnson of Sikeston, Missouri and Reggie Lampkin of San Diego, California;
Six brothers, Charles (Debbie) Rose of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert L. Williams of Columbia, Missouri, Henry L. Williams, Hershel Williams, Michael Dean, and Stevie (Amanda) Williams, all of Charleston, Missouri;
Four sisters, Angelene Wheeler Dixon of Columbia, Missouri, Doris (Ervin) Watts, Loretta (Ronald) Gary, and Alasie Williams, all of Charleston, Missouri;
One bonus daughter, Bertha Kellum of Colorado Springs;
24 grandchildren, and one she raised as her own after her mother passed away, Sasha Williams;
24 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren;
Three sisters-in-law, Annie Faye Anderson, Darlene Noble, and Vanessa Davis, all of Chicago, Illinois;
One brother-in-law, Collie Davis Jr. of Park Forest, Illinois;
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; Mattie Bell Harris of Tacoma WA, whom she’s been friends with since age 13. Several special friends that she shared her love and good times with.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
