Eddie Lee Shepherd

Eddie Lee Shepherd born October 22, 1953 in Charleston to Robert Lee Shepherd and Mattie Lee Wilson Shepherd. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Wade and Robert Shepherd, Jr., and one sister, Shirley Erwin.

He graduated from East Prairie High School in East Prairie, Missouri in 1970.

In 1972, Eddie moved to Flint, Michigan. While there, he worked for General Motors where he developed and grew his love for working on cars. He relocated to Ohio, then Kansas City where he remained for 15 years. During that time, he owned and operated several collision shops, doing body work, repairing and painting cars. Ultimately, he brought his talents back to the Bootheel, opening a shop in Sikeston, Missouri, then Charleston where he remained until his health declined. He spent his life doing what he loved.

Eddie was a jack of all trades. It wasn’t anything that he couldn’t do. He was the best collector in the city. He had a vast collection of just about anything you could think of. If there was something you needed, you could ask Eddie and he would have it or tell you where to find it.

As an avid music lover, Eddie would spend his nights in the house playing one of his five guitars. He also found happiness in fishing.

Eddie was highly opinionated. He would want you to agree with him, as he was always right. Eddie was a true character. He will be truly missed.

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Eddie was taken from our midst at the age of 72 years, seven months and 23 days.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories three brothers, Theodis “BO” (Patty) Shepherd of Novato, California, Archie Shepherd of Detroit, Michigan and Clifford A. (KC) Shepherd of Flint, Michigan, three sisters, Rose Thorton of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Martha (Willie) Jones of Osceola, Arkansas and Claudia (Gene) Skelton of Flint Michigan, his significant other, Robbin Booker of Charleston, Missouri, his special caregiver, Stephanie Anderson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
