Mrs. Ethel Marie Treadwell Banks was born August 16, 1949 in Point Pleasant, MO to the late Joe and Hattie Johnson Treadwell. On Wednesday August 17, 2022, Ethel was called to a better place as she closed her eyes while at Missouri Delta Hospital in Sikeston, MO at the age of 73 years old. She was one of ten siblings, four boys and six girls. Her husband, Charles Banks, her parents Joe & Hattie Johnson-Treadwell, three brothers, Ezell Treadwell, Fredrick Treadwell, Cleveland Treadwell, and four sisters, Ruthie Mae Treadwell Long, Catherine Treadwell Dunklin, Dorothy Jean Treadwell, and Mandy L. Treadwell Jones preceded her in death.
Ethel was a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She attended church on a regular basis until she began having health problems.
Ethel had a quiet spirit and was softly spoken. She enjoyed taking strolls through town, barbeque/cooking and she loved cuddling and holding little babies.
Ethel leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Charlotte Banks, Lilbourn, MO, Shirlene Treadwell, Columbia, MO and Marie (Anthony) Holloman, Jacksonville, FL. One son: Johnny Treadwell, Lilbourn, MO. Eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. One sister: Jearline (Mac) McCauley, Fort Washington, MD and one brother, Joe Treadwell Jr., New Madrid, MO. Three sisters- in- law, Madglene Treadwell, Portageville, MO, Erma Banks White, Denver, CO, and Glendell Hamilton, Marston, MO. Two brothers -in- law, Larry Banks and Raymond (Bridgett) Banks, Denver, CO. A very wonderful complete family of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, The Good Hope Church Family and Friends.
Friends may call Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1:00 P.M.until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M. at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Marston, Missouri with Pastor Allysia Long officiating. Interment will follow in Mason Cemetery in Point Pleasant, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Homes of Howardville in charge of arrangements.
