Keon Terrall Chavers, 37, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, transitioned to eternal rest on September 14, 2025.

Keon was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, at St. James Hospital. He spent his early years in Chicago Heights before making Southeast Missouri his home for most of his life. A proud graduate of New Madrid Central High School, Class of 2007, Keon went on to serve in the National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to both his family and his country.

Keon had a vibrant personality and cherished spending time with those he loved. Known for his humor and quick wit, he was always ready to crack a joke and bring laughter into the room. His favorite pastime was playing the video game Madden, where he proudly declared himself the reigning champion. He also loved to cook and was a self-proclaimed chef.

Keon is survived by his three beloved sons, Jay’Lynn Chavers of Malden, MO, Noah Garmon of Portageville, MO, and Uriah Chavers-Garmon of Portageville, MO. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Renee Ussery of Maricopa, AZ, and stepfather, Sylvester King of Portageville, MO; his grandmothers, Elois Clark and Mary Chavers both of Chicago Heights, IL; his siblings, LaToya (Westley) Ntlabati of Williamsburg, VA, Sylveltri Ray of St. Louis, MO, Jasmine Chavers of Hammond, IN, Deon Rucker of Bolivar, TN, Rea Taylor of Rifle, CO, and Sylquell Taylor of Belton, TX; his niece, Tolaya Moore, his nephews, Brandon and Braylon Moore of Williamsburg, VA, his best friend, DeAnton Brown, and the mother of his sons, Kiarra Garmon.

He was preceded in death by his cherished great-grandmother, Louise Taylor, nephew King Taylor, his uncle, Willie “Duke” Clark, and his grandfather, Clarence Chavers.

Keon will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in his children and in the countless memories shared with those who knew him.

Friends may call Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 11:00 A.M. at Life Changers Restoration Ministries in Lilbourn, Missouri with Pastor Demetrius Moore officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
