Patricia “Pat” McFerren-Morris
July 8, 1965 – October 13, 2026
Patricia “Pat” McFerren-Morris, 61, of Sikeston, Missouri, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, family, friendship, and community service.
Born July 8, 1965, to Coach Lennies McFerren and Willie Mae McFerren, Pat was known for her bright spirit, bold personality, unmistakable voice, and generous heart. A proud supporter of athletics, she could often be found cheering from the sidelines, especially while sitting just steps behind her father as he coached.
A graduate of Charleston High School, Pat furthered her education at Lincoln University and Southeast Missouri State University. She dedicated 12 years to the Missouri Department of Youth Services, where she encouraged and mentored young people.
Inspired by her daughter, Markeidra, Pat founded Keidra’s Caring Center in Sikeston in 2007, later expanding to Caruthersville. Through these centers, she devoted nearly two decades to improving the lives of adults with special needs and providing meaningful support to their families.
Her outstanding contributions earned numerous honors, including the Key to the City of Sikeston, recognition by the Missouri House of Representatives, and inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in America. A faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Pat served as Choir Director and was actively involved in church and community organizations. She also served with the Willing Working Women Auxiliary, the Pastor Aide Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruby Hughes Chapter No. 117 in Sikeston. Pat was also a proud Alpha Angel, reflecting her lifelong commitment to sisterhood, service, and uplifting others.
Pat cherished her family, including her husband, Michael Morris; daughters, Markeidra and Kiarra (Je’Tyson) Morris-Tate; grandchildren, Je’Raelyn Tate and Je’Tyson Tate; godchildren, Da’Narea Tre’Lyn Curry, Nathan Winfield Jr., Dana Tipler, and De’Montae Farmer; and her beloved grandpup, Kane “Grandpup” Tate. Her family circle also included her parents and siblings, Shonna Morrow, Crystal Davis, Lennies McFerren Jr., and Emmanuel Bibbs.
To her friends, Pat was loyal, honest, and unforgettable. She loved out loud, celebrated others wholeheartedly, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her greatest legacy will forever be the lives she touched and the love she shared.
Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026. A visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Cornerstone Baptist Church, located at 127 West Trotter Street in Sikeston, Missouri with Pastor L.J. Nabors and First Lady Mayola Nabors officiating. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
