There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the Heavens. -Ecclesiastes 12:13

Paul Edward McClain, Sr. was a loving man of the Lord. He was born to Jeffella and Martin McClain in Portageville, Missouri 80 years ago on November 21, 1945. On May 31, 2026 after living a glorious life for the Lord, he was called home. He lived a long life praising the Lord.

Paul was dedicated to sharing the word of God. He was ordained February 8, 1987. As a Pastor for over 30 years, he had many churches under his leadership, including In Living Word Worship in Columbia, Missouri. He also preached in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and blessed several churches with his messages from the Lord.

Paul was known for the work he did on cars. He could make old cars look new again.

In 2006 Paul married his beautiful wife, Dorothy McClain, who he loved very much. They were loving companions who stayed by each other’s side for two decades until his sunset.

Paul was a very loving man to his family and friends. His passion was walking by faith and not by sight. He also enjoyed going to the Mississippi River and “catching some good eating’, as he would say. He could be found planting seeds in his garden, giving life to the things he loved best. Paul was snappy with comebacks that always had us laughing. Paul will be truly missed by many.

Paul left this world to go join his mother, Jeffella, his father, Martin, his son, Paul, Jr., and his siblings, Tommy McClain, Paulette McClain, Doris McClain, Dennis McClain, Wanda McElrath, Marvin McClain, Jr., Johnnie McClain, Eules McClain, and Paulette Sipho, along with many other loved ones.

“It has already been written”, as Paul would say.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Dorothy McClain of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, his brothers, Winfred McClain of Kansas City, Missouri, Michael McClain of Phoenix, Arizona and Larry McClain of Columbia, Missouri, his sisters, Mary Sipho of Kansas City, Missouri, JoAnn Yancey and Elaine McClain both of Columbia, Missouri and Kina Diggs of Phoenix, Arizona, his son, Anthony McClain of Michigan, his daughters, Elaine McClain of Texas and Ericka Johnson of Columbia, nine stepchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
