Remona Ann Jones Easton, affectionately known as Susie, was born October 23, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Ozell Jones and Joyce Jones Washington of Charleston, Missouri.
She was a member of Nail Ministries for 17 years. She loved the Lord. She was a free spirit who was non-confrontational. She was on the Usher Board and proudly wore her uniform. She also served the ministry by performing secretarial tasks and inspiring the younger generation. The children adored her.
On March 17, 2011, she was married to Gary “Snook” Easton by Pastor Veronica Dunigan. They shared eight years together before marriage. Susie loved her husband dearly.
Susie was a hardworking woman. She was employed by the Charleston R-1 School District where she did secretarial work. She also worked at the Mississippi County Detention Center, the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility, and Reeves Boomland. She would always find herself in the Nutrition Department. In her free time, she enjoyed cleaning her home and cooking various types of food. She loved making tuna and her famous strawberry cake.
Susie loved her family, especially her grandson. Spending time with family, partying, dancing and working made her life worthwhile.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Furgerson.
On Tuesday, May 27, 2025 while at her home, Susie was taken from her midst at the age of 57 years, seven months, and four days.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Gary Easton of the home, three sons, Jerrod Jones of Charleston, Missouri, Jevon Jones of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Je’marlon Calvin of Sikeston, Missouri, one daughter, Jelecia Jones of Huntsville, Alabama, her mother, Joyce Washington of Charleston, Missouri, three brothers, Rodney (Pam) Jones of Charleston, Missouri, Ozell (Lisa) Jones, Jr. of Mound City, Illinois, and Allen (Denise) Jones of Bloomington, Illinois, four sisters, Connie (Jerrod) Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, Gloria (Herbert) Lewis of Forrest City, Arkansas, Denise Jones and Joyce Jones of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, one grandson she helped raise, Kameren Allan of Charleston, Missouri, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Minister Rodney Jones officiating and Pastor Veronica Dunigan of Nail Ministries eulogizing. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
