Robbie Ray Tipler

Robbie Ray Tipler, 63, was born July 14,1963 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Ella Lee Tipler.

Robbie maintained his own personal relationship with God throughout his life. He attended Blessed Assurance Ministries in East Prairie, Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Stanley Triplett.

In 1981, Robbie graduated from East Prairie High School in East Prairie. While there, he played basketball. He was well known for his left handed, nothing but net shots. He also played football until a broken leg ended his career.

He was united in marriage to the love his life, Norma. They were childhood sweethearts that created a life full of love and memories together.

Robbie was one of a kind. His jokester spirit was a big part of his personality. He will always be remembered by his favorite saying, “If I had your hands, I’d cut mine off.”

He never met a stranger, and when he did, they became family. His family meant the world to him, especially his grandchildren. He loved to talk about them and their achievements. He was a proud grandfather that made a room specifically to display their works.

When he wasn’t with family, he could be found watching sports, farming, fishing or eating. Crowned as the best fish cooker, loved ones joke that he must have been a mermaid in his past life. As a sports fanatic, Robbie spent time watching a lot of basketball and football, cheering for his favorite teams.

On Sunday, September 6, 2026 Robbie eased from his earthly duties at the age of 63 years, one month and 23 days. He will be truly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Robbie Ray Jones, his daughter, Brittany Renee Tipler, his sister, Mae Lois Tipler Gordon and his twin, Bobbie Tipler Bogan.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his son, Paris Tipler of East Prairie, Missouri, his daughters, Valisha (Dennis) Jones and Asia (Shatara) Davis of Sikeston, Missouri and Robin Jones of East Prairie, Missouri, his brother, Alvin Tipler of East Prairie, Missouri, two sisters, Sadie (Kim) Streaty of Anderson, Indiana, and Callie (Wendell) Cooper of Charleston, Missouri, his grandchildren, Deverence, Chakyrah, Dylon, Derez, D’Byrion, Jadyn, Aliyah, LaShyia, Spencer, Jahirah, Demarkez, Dennis Jr., D’Kari and D’Von, his great grandson, DeKysin and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2026 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston with Pastor Samuel Gibson of Ollie Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson City, Missouri officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
