Roy Langdon Morgan, age 85, of Charleston, Missouri, departed this life on June 18, 2026.

Roy was born on July 28, 1940, in Tunica, Mississippi, to the late Rev. John K. Morgan and Fannie L. Morgan. He lived a life marked by love for his family, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the relationships he built throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Roy L. Morgan II; three brothers, William Redditte (Doris), James Morgan (Gerline), and Charles Morgan; and his sister, Geraldine Shipp (Edward).

He is survived by his loving siblings, Shirley Parks (Elmer), Thelma Smith, Portia Zellars (Sam), Muriel Frierson (Ernest), Joyce Morgan Floyd, Jacqueline Latson (Raymond), and Joe Claude Morgan

Roy was first married to Pearlie Morgan, and from their union, two sons were born: Garry Morgan and Jeffrey Morgan (Latanya). They shared many years together and remained connected through the family they built. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Morgan, with whom he shared 11 years of love.

Roy later became the proud father of twin daughters, Jocelyn Morgan-Jackson (David) and Jennifer Webb (Marcus), and Leslie Morgan (Najeebah). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeffrey Morgan, Jeremy Morgan, Janel Davis, Darriell Stewart, Trevon Jackson, Jalyiah Davis, Daylin Jackson, Jayden Jackson, Lesley Morgan, Aaliyah Morgan, Armani Morgan, Lyric Morgan; six great-grandchildren, one of whom preceded him in death; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Roy L. Morgan proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1965 - 1985. During his military career, he attained the ranks of Sergeant First Class, MP (Military Police), and Aircraft Maintenance Senior Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal (6th award, Driver Badge, Overseas Service Bar (4), Senior Aircraft Crewman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. Roy was then honorably discharged in 1985. He remained deeply proud of his military service and accomplishments throughout his life. He then went on to work for the V. A. Hospital in Memphis, TN, as a V. A. policeman for another 20 years and retired.

Roy's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved. He will be remembered for his strength, wisdom, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

His services are entrusted to Harrison's Memorial Chapel in Memphis, Tennessee.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Harrison's Memorial Chapel, located at 3320 Millbranch Road in Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will immediately follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis with military honors.
