Sandra Kay Scott was born April 27, 1956 in New Madrid, Missouri to Bernice Scott-Gilmore who preceded her in death.

Sandra was also known as Mema, San, Mama. She was the oldest of four children. Sandra gave her life to Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid. Until her health failed her, Sandra suffered for three months due to an automobile accident and that brought her life closer to an end.

Sandra attended school in New Madrid. Sandra was a hard worker for many years at Plasten in Portageville, Missouri. She was also a caregiver to many others. She was also a stay at home mom who loved her children, grandkids, and great grands dearly. She loved listening to music. Her favorite colors were burgundy and hunter green. Her favorite thing to do was travel. She loved her wheelchair which was known as “Hellcat” from her special grandson, her “Double K” a.k.a. her soldier. Sandra loved all of her family and had a special bond with everyone. She was known for her kind spirit, special smile, and had her way of brightening someone’s day just from her words of encouragement.

On April 29, 2025 Sandra was suddenly called from time into eternity at the age of 69.

In addition to her mother Bernice Scott, she is preceded in death by her grandmother, Essie Scott, her special friend, Jacob Hill, her sister, Lisa Faye Hampton, and a host of uncles, aunts, and other relatives.

She leaves to cherish her memories her three beautiful children, her one and only daughter, NaKasha Hill of New Madrid, Missouri and two sons, Jacob Scott of St. Louis, Missouri and Jabrey Martris Scott, Sr. of New Madrid, Missouri, 11 grandkids, 13 great grandkids with Sandreka Scott being the oldest, one brother, Victor Ray Scott of New Madrid, Missouri, one sister, Patricia (Warren) Freeman of New Madrid, Missouri, three aunts, Mary Smart of Elkhart, Indiana, Brenda Wheeler of New Madrid, Missouri, Lillie Taylor of New Madrid, Missouri. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish her memories.

Funeral services will be held May 17, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Mt. Olive MB Church located at 315 Missouri in New Madrid, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow in Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
